Chicago PD officer found guilty of 2nd degree murder in shooting death of Laquan McDonald

Jurors also convicted Officer Van Dyke on 16 counts of aggravated battery with a firearm. He could face decades in prison when sentenced.

Sucks. But the dude was being chased by what looked to be 4-5 cop cars while running in the middle of the street with a knife. Looked to be within 10’ of the cop when he was shot. I don’t think he needed to be shot, but what the hell was he thinking?

Some cops are trigger happy now-a-days.
It's the point when he had already shot the guy and he was down, he continued shooting him.
No remorse. Judge shouldnt show any on him.
Inmates should have fun with him.

I trust juries and sounds like it definitely wasn't a justified shooting. Dude was trigger happy and messed up bad. Which again goes back to point #1, sucky job.
I just fear that we are going to have a lot less qualified law enforcement in the future because the talent pool is going to be really small, because who honestly would want to be a cop these days?

Maybe the first shot wasnt lethal. So instead of stabilizing the situation (getting weapon from perp) he made sure he killed him. On top of that, he went into the situation saying he was going to have to shoot him.
