Hell to the no.
4 cylinder full-size trucks are just pathetic.

Pretty soon those will be the only ones under $100k.

Most people that have trucks don't really need them .
How are people supposed to know you’re a man if you don’t drive a truck?

Looking at this truck with the 4 cylinder turbo. Never tow anything, trips to Home Depot etc. Just like having a truck. Any experience with this engine, good or bad?
Supposedly the 2.7L turbo has been very reliable for GM so far. The power numbers look decent.
But it sounds like a turbo 4 banger, and the fuel economy numbers aren't THAT much better than the V8.

I got 12 mpg on my 2011 Sierra Denali.

Kind of shocked that the entry level, base gasoline engine in the half ton Silverado puts out 430 lb-feet of torque.
That's impressive. I've heard good things about how sturdy they are if you can get past the fact that it doesn't sound anything like the V8 trucks.

Then get a car or suv and rent a Home Depot truck when you need one. Frequent short trips is hell on a turbo.

Supposed to be a very reliable engine, and I like how much power it puts out. But I've never driven one.

Also to add....
....any love for a 4Runner, Tacoma, Frontier, or Colorado? Smaller than a full sized rig, and you will never forget that you are driving a truck when behind the wheel of any of those mid sizers.

I mean it’s not really the engine in the full size trucks that will get you it’s the fricking transmissions they put in the newer ones to try and get better gas mileage that go to shite and is an expensive fix.
So idk, if I wanted the big engine I’d go older anyway.

Actually was interested so looked it up. It’s not bad with 450 lbs of torque and 4x4 has 9,000lb tow rating so you could pull your boat. But it has 18 mpg rating. That’s not worth it imo.
