There's a reason for that. They know for equal money people will buy the Tacoma 999 time out of 1000.

It's really not much of a debate.

But if I don't haul things or go off road for anything, what's the benefit? I'm driving to and from work and occasional things on the weekend.
I've never had a new truck and have been saving so save the just buy old used truck advice.
I've had a Tundra for 6 years and have replaced the AC and 2 alternators. It only has 85,000 miles. Forgive me if I'm open to Chevy.

God damn, no one can actually have a conversation and say why the Tacoma is better? I am open to either, like the looks of both but could get more bang for my $ with the Colorado.
Are you dead set on one or the other? Only reason I ask is because you're going to run into a lot of situations where you'd rather have a slightly bigger truck. If you change your mind we can have the Silverado vs. Tundra debate next

I don't ever preach that advice. You're looking for validation to buy the cheaper truck. You're not getting it form me. The Tacoma is a better truck.
If you're not using wither of them for truck purposes, who cares?

Your first two are spot on, but your last two couldn't be more wrong.

Then buy a sedan.

I think I'm set on one of the 2, I just have no need for a full size anymore. I have a Tundra and the way my garage is positioned, I don't even bother trying to park it in there. Having a midsize truck would alleviate that.

Get the diesel Canyon with All-Terrain package! That's what I have and I absolutely love it!

Get a silverado and be done with it.

Just because I don't pull a boat or go mudding doesn't mean I want a fricking Civic

Alternators go bad. That isn't a knock on a vehicle manufacturer necrssarily. And 85,000 miles doesn't necessarily tell the story of an alternator. Time plays a huge factor.

I mean, if you prefer men who compensate and women who dip, I can see how you would have that opinion.

I must have forgotten that the only vehicles on the road are trucks or civics.

Yeah, you definitely sound like a chevy guy now.

I hear ya. Having a Chevy, I'd advise you to go with the Toyota. My grandfather has a Tacoma and loves it. My grandmother keeps bitching at him to get a bigger truck but he likes it. All he does is haul his little jon boat and stuff to/from the nursery. It's nice to have a truck even if you don't need a bigger one.

Honestly, if I didn't use my truck regularly for carrying loads, I would absolutely switch to a nice sedan.

I'm open to either and don't really care about the price. However, I would like to hear what the knocks are against the Colorado. I'm genuinely curious.
If we're talking Tacoma, what trim package should I start looking at?

You sound like a really cool guy. I would love to get more generalizations and life advice from you, at your convenience.

TSS is a good starting point.
