Jeff Landry’s pro-business environment strikes again.

They'll toss a bag of shucked oyster shells into the gulf and call it good

Wrong. These suits have been here a lot longer than that.

Nope, not these particular bullshite legacy lawsuits. You’re wrong buddy. Of course there have and will always be lawsuits, some even legit, but nothing like what you see with these.

Didn’t these contracts over the last 100 years require the oil companies to fill back all the access canals that we let them dig all over our coastal wetlands? The answer is yes, it was in the contracts.
Filling the canals was expensive. So they didn’t do it. They paid off state politicians to look the other way. But yet we’re on the side of the oil companies?
Now we have saltwater intrusion through these canals that has long since destroyed our freshwater ecosystem, leading to exponential loss of coastal land.
I can only guess that those mad at the state are the same people playing golf instead of out there fishing - witnessing land disappear year to year.
But yeah y’all go ahead and be mad at the state.

You're right. Wrong picture.
Years ago in the NYTimes, they reported that a newly minted PhD had said sea levels were rising based on satellite images in the Chesapeake Bay due to global warming. He said that was true because there was more reflectivity meaning open water than the previous decades.
In another section of the NYTimes, there was an article about the massive damages nutria were doing to swamp grasses denuding massive areas of the Chesapeake Bay.
I hear they make a nice fur coat!

This is dumb, I’m guessing you’re an attorney. LA Statewide 29-B came into effect in 1982. That’s more than 40 yrs ago. Also the most stringent and ridiculous regulations in the lower 48 states at the time. Don’t spout stupid shite.
Posted on 4/4/25 at 5:55 pm to White Bear
It was DEQ moron. So you’re saying shite that stopped 40 years ago still deserves reparations? What about 100 yrs ago, or 200, see where this is going and always does in this shitty state?
Btw, Texas still has extremely more lenient rules than La to this day. Why don’t we see this in Texas?

My apologies, thought I was editing a reply to Tboy. Just sounded like some shite he would throw to see if it’ll stick.

The suit for that judgment today was filed in 2013. Jindal was Governor then.
Respectfully, you are mistaken.

He sucked. And I'm a Republican.
Worst.
Governor.
Ever.
I would vote for a deceased Edwin Edwards before him.

Little light on the attorney fees

It is cute people still think of Jindal as a governor.

You're right.
His face shoulda been on the side of a milk cartoon.
And his mom was hilarious, thinking she had influence after he embarrassed himself.
He can pretend to rehabilitate himself writing OP-ED pieces for the WSJ.
Or, he csn deliver mail in Amite.
He'd probably eff that up, too.

In his defense, he didn’t r anything up any worse than any other governor we’ve had in our lifetimes. Yet people, both D and R, don’t want to admit that neither has done shite for this state. It’s not hard to pick out the trust fund blowhards on this forum.

I respectfully disagree.
He was terrible, and I saw it up close.
He was given a gift, and he squndered it.
He could've made an impact and he made the wrong choice at every turn.
