Chernobyl in infrared photography

I am old enough to remember it happening and one of the coolest stories I read on the Internet (before my OT awakening) was about the girl who rode hew motorcycle through the exclusion zone.
Also still one of the best missions in Call of Duty as well

That was a really cool story. I was incredibly disappointed when I found out that it was all fiction.
I've always had a morbid fascination with Chernobyl. I've seen lots of documentaries on it. One that really got to me was about a group of scientists that would regularly go in and inspect the place to see how fast things were deteriorating. They asked the leader of that team why they did it and he said, "Because somebody has to." All of those guys are dead now. Not from radiation but from heart problems caused by the stress of going in there.

I was in Kiev for work last year and almost took a trip to Chernobyl. You can do a full guided tour for dirt cheap (everything there is super cheap) and I've heard tons of good things. You actually get to go pretty close to the sarcophagus, but they don't let you stay long.

saw a documentary on their fear of a forest fire. The leaves that have fallen in the area arent decaying, just accumulating due to the radioactivity.
