Sounded like WWIII last night at midnight with the sound bouncing around the mountains. It was awesome, even though I had to get up at 3a.

Yup, and the same idiots shooting guns because they think nobody can tell the difference between a gun and fireworks.

I guess I don’t get the firework fascination.

I look at them, but feel no need to set off any of my own.

I’m kinda random about them too but son, 10, loves em so yeah I’m poppin a decent amount but not the overboard shite.

Lots of them off in the distance - I guess my neighbors blew their fireworks budgets a few days ago - just stuff maybe a mile away - one neighbor used to blow a couple grand on them - I guess he got tired of it

This is - by far - the most quiet I've ever heard/seen a 4th in my neighborhood. 20+ years - there used to be shooting stuff off until 2 AM - this year almost nothing. It's almost eerie.

The neighborhood next to mine is currently on fire and several homes have been burned down. I'm out of town hoping it doesn't move too far.

The 4th was lame this year. Covid broke people.

Even at the parades, people sat like lumps of coal. I think people have been broken, forgot how to enjoy life.

When I had kids, my house was the place to be for fireworks.

Now I’m old, and I sat and watched someone else be the place to be in the neighborhood. I like watching them, if I’d known they were going to I’d have given them a couple hundred to buy more.

For the 1st time since my teens, I was one of the assaulters last night. All of our kids buddies who's parents usually provide the firepower went to organized events last nigh. So about 8:45 the wife sent me and the kid to fireworks stand to stock up. We invite our elderly neighbors over to our 1/2 the cul-de-sac and proceeded to recreate the battle of Ft. McHenry. Our dog wasn't happy with us...

We went down to the levee to watch the fireworks and a group of young people next to me left halfway through and said, “This is so boring, I’m dying”. I’m not sure what they had been expecting. I thought the fireworks were great, but maybe i’m boring too.

I love out in the country, so it's been pretty quiet.

Is this normal? We talk about moving out to a more isolated area, but I just fear that we will hear more fireworks because people will be more liberal with their use of them.
