Did I say anything about credit scores?
ACtually chase and capital one give FICO scores now too on top of normalized reports.
You can still check for any new account openings or changes in general every week.
Pecker is 100% correct regardless lol.

You can request a report from each agency (equifax, experian, and transunion) once a year.
I usually stagger every 4 months and check one at a time.
If you use adjunct services like creditkarma etc you can semi check your report more often... it'll let you know when new accounts open/things change.

Yep. American Express offers a FICO credit score based on Experian data. You can also access free credit reports from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. Citi and Mastercard do this as well.
As someone else just said, the easiest way to see a free credit report is to sign up for creditkarma. I glance at my reports once a month out of habit now when I pay bills.

Should find out sometime today since I'll have to file a police report if it's anything other than clerical errors.

Seems like this is more of clerical error that the loan is being reported on your credit report, why in the world would they be paying the loan if it was fraud?
Maybe they're an illegal, but wanted to buy a house with loan. They took the chance that this guy would not notice...they were correct on that for a long time. Fraudulent yes, but not necessarily the worst people in the world. Not to mention, if payments aren't made...the bank is going to go to the house that was bought, and want that back. No one is going to hack someone's credit to purchase a house and then not pay for it or live in it, that would be the ultimate random crime. Identity thieves are almost always out for personal gain.

Im just teasing. that's fricked up.
whoever underwrote that loan is going to freak the frick out when presented with your evidence.

My Capital One credit card gives me a free credit tracker on the Capital One website and in the mobile app. It shows me all my credit accounts (open and closed) and their balances, along with credit score. Its on par with the free service that Credit Karma offers IMO.

Those wonderful Equifax folks, you know, the credit reporting company that let everyone's personal information get hacked? Yeah.... those guys.
I finally got around to ordering up a credit report. Hadn't needed to in many years. Found this on my record. Didn't recognize it. But there it was.
Someone had used my credit history, my social security, etc.. and secured a loan for $181,257. At least they've been making regular payments.
If the person has been paying the loan for two years, it sounds like they just needed a SSN to open the loan. The loan and associated documents are likely in their name but with your SSN. It may also be something as simple as a transcription error. Someone keyed in the wrong SSN.
Work with Equifax to get it resolved. Provide them with the documents they request. Ask them to suppress the account during the investigation.

Something wrong with your money game when you confuse credit reports with credit scores...
They don't give just a number. They give total accounts open, loan balances, and credit available. I get am update each week/month from my bank and each of my credit cards

I'm aware. Still not a credit report like what you get with the big 3 from annualcreditreport.com
Two different things.

What type of loan is that? Gotta be somebody you know

Almost looks like someone bought a house.

If I were Hubba I would ask the wifey or ex wifey if they bought a secret lover house.

I've checked my credit score. It's solid at 836

the highest credit score possible is 850, although any score of 720 or higher is considered “excellent” and will usually afford you a lender's most favorable credit terms.

if it is a mortgage someone created a fake ID or DL with your name. They are creating fake debit cards, (I was ripped off over 500 bucks a few months ago) they prolly are making IDs now as well...

It's almost like Equifax is incompetent and made an error... but that couldn't be.
Good thing congress and our wonderful leaders just made it harder a couple of weeks ago for you to sue banks and credit agencies. They need to be let off the hook for all the good they do.
