Have a $50 gift card from Dick's and looking for a beater watch to order with their free shipping.
Any suggestions? Thinking maybe a cheap timex or Cassio?

I have the Timex Weekender that I wear to work pretty much every day. Nice, simple watch that looks good. It usually goes on sale on Amazon for like $25 or so.

I could dig it.
Was thinking digital but don't really know why.
What about that metal expedition scout one?

I think I prefer the Weekender, but the Expedition scout is pretty nice

I had an expedition at one time with the blue back light.
It held up well and had a nylon/cotton strap that didn't bother me sweating like a plastic strap does.

G-Shock.
No brainer here.
Ironman a close #2 but durability is not there.

The G Shock is indestructible for sure.
But that makes it bulky, I found the expedition to be more comfortable and plenty tough enough. After all, a $50 watch doesn't have to be bullet-proof. The Timex will give you 3-5 years of service at least.
Jmo.

I had that same watch from 2nd (84)grade through probably 9th grade. There were probably 3 or 4 watches during that timeframe.
