18 people headed to Hawaii for new years. Cheaper to each grab individual flight or charter private plane? Anyone have exp with bulk bookings or private jets?

There isn't a break even point. Commercial is always going to be cheaper

Maybe get a group rate from airline

Hawaii is a hell of a long ways away...I would imagine that it would take a damn big aircraft to have the range for that flight.

Everyone knows you're supposed to go to Zurich for New Years.

What is a roundtrip ticket? 1200-1500?

You're going to come up a little short. About 75-125k short.

Neither, you tell the pilot to have your personal plane ready, washed, on the tarmac, and waiting for you to arrive for the flight whenever you feel like it, poor.

I’ll ask my accountant for a copy of the last statement from my Amex black card and get back to you on the private jet cost

If everyone pays, it works out to maybe 6000-7500 a person for round trip.

But yeah, OP is asking a stupid question. There is no break even point compared to an air Greyhound.

Costs aside a Global Express or G4/G5/G6 can technically be configured to hold 18, but good luck finding one to charter configured for more than 15-16 and even then you would likely still have to severely restrict luggage with that many. Good luck telling 9 women(if its couples) they can each bring a small carry-on size bag for a week in Hawaii.

It will never make economical sense however you try to slice it. It's a luxury.

The only plane you could charter is a G4, G5, G6 or Bombardier Global 6000 or 7000 probably. To charter any of those planes probably costs about $10-15k an hour. Flying from BR to Hawaii is about a 6 hour flight right? Probably costs $60k to get there and $60k to get back. So, if you can't get commercial tickets for 18 for under $120k then charter I guess.
