That is so fricking stupid. Instead of cancelling one holiday and creating another, why not just add the AA holiday to the calendar?
It really doesn't have to be so fricking difficult.
Why stop there? Why not remove all statues of Jefferson and take any mention of Monticello and UVA (which he founded) from all city literature, maps and road signs? Why not dig his old arse up and throw him in the river?
Let's pretend he never existed, or short of that just ignore all of his great works simply because he lived in a time when people owned slaves. What a bunch of simple-minded jackasses.
