This is always a fun argument. There's about 5-10 true "progressives" in Congress right now. That's it. That's the progressive movement. They had a wildly popular candidate in Bernie Sanders who couldn't beat a 90% dead Joe Biden. But they are masterfully pulling the puppet strings and calling for their massive base to commit violence. Makes a lot of sense.

You're gonna have to give em space and grace man. Especially on the Internet. These guys for sure deal with normal people all the time that are left-wing or liberal or progressive or whatever and don't plot to kill them. Emotions are pretty understandably running high.
All you can do right now is make it clear where you stand politically and make it equally clear that you don't condone killing people over political disagreements.

I'm sure people do say that about you in real life and it's not because they're progressive. Having millions of online political posts, retweeting political memes all day, etc etc is anti-social, misanthropic behavior. It's been normalized but people who don't do that despise those who do.
