Chapters of life are weird. Every one I am in seems to be the best, and then I grow and the next is better. And then as you get older the better stages are mixed with so much pain. Life is weird.

IMO healing is a weird word. You move on, you learn a new normal. But do you heal? That suggests the wound is gone.

The pages...they turn. Characters who come and go. Some seem they were made for our story and yet at the end of it all they were just cameos from the world around us.

Trauma is weird. Your body never forgets any of it. And your mind doesn’t forget the event. But your mind can push the hurt down so far that it doesn’t effect you so much. Like your days are filled with so many distractions from the hurt, and eventually, after however many days, months, years... you can go an hour without thinking about it. Then a day. Then a week. It still pops up when you least expect it, but for the most part, days are “normal.” Or you settle into the new normal, like you put it. At least, that has been my experience.

If you allow it, yes. For most people though, their demons are also their good friends. Scars never go away, but you can use them for good.

Someone here one time described grief how you just did but with an image.

So you have this box and a ball. The ball starts out huge the size of the box every time it bounces and hits the wall you feel grief. Every day the ball bounces and gets smaller. But it still kicks you in the gut when its but a marble hits less than a kickball.

I guess another option is to just look at the loss someone has endured.

Yes, scars are forever.

Everyone has them, or will have them. They're just trying to keep up an image. I respect the hell out of an overcomes.

This thread has mostly quality posters in it other than me. I've appreciated your openness about personal struggles as well. The saying "ain't nobody perfect" is actually perfect.

I am n my 50’s..still seeking love and romance. The first thirty years were about learning and education. Now I really don’t study science or meteorology. It seems useless to keep learning. I would like to learn the piano but I’m not sure I should invest time in that.

Feel miserable except when I’m at work. Have no hope in romance and time is running out for me. Maybe Heaven will replace these desires that are being unfulfilled here on Earth. What if I wasted my life on the wrong things ?

I was dealt a good hand and have had life slap me in the face.

You've lived your life and it put you in positions that were not ideal.

At the end of the day I just want people to talk about stuff and not be scared. No matter what it is. People will listen.

You sound depressed Klinger. If you want me to be honest, this is likely your issue. Figure out what makes you feel happy and take care of that first. You can't make anyone else happy if you are miserable.

that’s all anyone wants, I think. Most are too scared to admit it. I think after we have kids, women lose the ability to give too many fricks, though. So liberating.
