Thanks. Where in the mountains do you live? You never struck me as the off the grid type. I must not have been paying attention.

I think he lives at the highest elevation on Lee Drive, between Highland and Perkins.

Nothing. I sought to heal myself rather than depending on things.

I moved back to my happy place, stopped worrying, and learned answers to the material superficial world are solved from the inside. Appeasing doesn't solve anything.

Involving yourself in things you cannot change leads to frustration, attachment leads to suffering, and possessions lead to slavery.

I lived in Boulder for a decade. You may have been too busy spouting Marxist Narratives and projecting characteristics upon me to pay attention to what I was actually saying . Both off the grid types you are addressing here in this thread are both live and let live small government types. You know, you do you and I’ll do me and just keep the government out of my shite. But I digress...

Glad you are back. I promise to be nicer. I was kind of a dick to you. Sorry about that.

Absolutely. Nature and music are where I find the inner quietness to stop talking and to start listening. Detach from the hive.

Rejecting the primal and natural, feeling guilty for denying the individual has led to confusion in men.

I really like Boulder. I was there for a wedding a few years and could see myself living there

.... until I saw the prices of real estate.

I used to be way more annoying than I am now.

People tend to fill voids with addictions. When the addiction is resolved or stopped, the void remains, ya know?

I’m absolutely realizing this.

We are all annoying in youth. Except for G Vice. At 18, he arrived at LSU from the Vermillion swamps , clad in his black tennis shoes, ready to be a CEO. The rest of us did and said a lot of stupid shite before we figured life out a bit more.

The trimesters of life are as follows:

1st 30 years - Focused on Sex
2nd 30 years - Focused on Food
3rd 30 years - Focuse on Bowel movements.

There it is!

Addictions don't fill voids, they trick the mind into avoiding them. They don't go away. It all comes back to healing.

Hey! Long time no talk. I actually asked about you the other name but I couldn’t remember you’re name. I remember we bought you a bike. You and I talked plants because I had something g weird growing in my flower garden.

Yeah, on this topic, I have the clouds of change on the horizon too. Quickly. It’s good because I’m not happy with the present, but it’s gonna be a lot of change at once. Location, job, distance from aging parents, etc.

I’m most worried about the distance from aging parents. I don’t want to feel like m leaving them when they need me most. I don’t want to feel that resentment towards myself whether even if I have no real choice in the matter.

I’m still very much into gardening! I have a pretty cool sanctuary of native plants at my house now.

What do you have on the horizon? Can you take your parents with you?

Tha would be something I could sell if I actually had a method. But I slowed down, learned acceptance and adaptation, appreciated nature a little more, embraced minimalism, did the things that felt right to me instead of living someone elses life.

We are all spiritual individuals trapped in a materialistic (superficial) collective world. Finding who we are, and finding meaning in our lives leads to contentment.
Approval, attachment, rigidity are all poison to the human spirit.

Forgiveness and shedding anger have to happen. You can't be at peace with yourself if you're at war with others.

ready to be a CEO

...not sure what you mean by that

To the thread though, my current chapter is new-onset empty-nester. Spent the last 20 years being the most involved dad and best provider that I can....going 90 mph 7 days per week.

Now those people aren't around to need me that much anymore.

Some parents celebrate this. But our truth is we are just trying to get through it and figure it out.

Overall, life is good. My first world problems are few, and they are good problems to have.
