Coming out is hard. It can be difficult to explain how you feel and who you are, especially if you're still trying to figure all of that out yourself. There's a whirlwind, rollercoaster of a journey laid out before you.
But it's okay. No, really, it is. It's the start of you being you. Win or lose, at least you'll know where you stand and who you can count on.

1. You'll ask yourself "why?" a lot – and come out to yourself first

2. You'll feel frightened

4. You'll feel relieved

5. Things will change quickly

6. You might face stigma

7. Loads of people want to help you

Never. Manuals are always what I'll drive. 3 pedals or nothing.

Any time I see these "stories", I just have to shake my head. Like the one last week about the trans couple where the father is really the mother and the mother is really the father. Kids have ZERO chance at a normal life.

It's a procedure. Like rebuilding a carburetor has a procedure. You know, when you rebuild a carburetor, the first thing you do is you take the carburetor off the manifold? Supposing you skip the first step, and while you're replacing one of the jets, you accidentally drop the jet, it goes down the carburetor, rolls along the manifold, and goes into the head. You're fricked. You just learned the hard way that you gotta remove the carburetor first, right? So that's all that happened to me today. I learned the hard way. Actually, it was a good learning experience for me.

I drove a manual TRANSmission my entire life. Always loved it.
However, after I married - I came out as an automatic TRANSmission user in college and medical school because i was busy and had difficult commutes. My wife was very supportive. It helped that she had been BiTransmissioned in the past. Her first case was a manualTrans but it was wrecked and she was driving an automaticTRANSmission.
But I immediately knew something was wrong. It did not feel right to change. Others applauded my decision. My roommate (a loyal autoTRANSmission user) loved borrowing my car for a change. Everyone else had changed and seemed happy but I knew it was wrong the minute I no longer had a stick to play with in traffic.
Years later, when I finally got back into motorcycle riding, I got the first taste of the manual TRANSmission I had been missing. I knew then that I had to act on my heart and convert back.
I have now been a very happy manual TRANSmission driver for the last 10-12 years and I don't care what everyone else thinks. I know I am in the minority but you can't tell me my feelings are wrong. It is not fair for society to expect everyone to conform to their preconceived notions of what goes on inside my vehicle.
I got my stick back and I love it.
manual TRANSmissions forever.

And of course, the very first sentence of this one is:

Yuck. Cosmo used to just be about teaching women how to gobble on balls.

I had so many questions. What. A. Relief!

And this is where the problem is. People with gender dysphoria aren't getting the help they need because they're being told they're perfectly ok and normal and the rest of society is what needs to change.
