Changed my divorce opinion

So tonight a friend of my wife is staying with us through the weekend. She brought her 2 year old and she is also 4 months pregnant. Her husband decided he wasn't happy anymore and would rather pay child support than be unhappy.
Well tonight they get here and little boy is distraught wants daddy, latches on to me. I put him down for the night. as a father of 2 daughters under 4 I can't possibly comprehend how you can do this to your own child. Do you just hope it goes away? I know as a father I could not do that do my children.

I agree. Sometimes the marriage is worse though.
I grew up with divorced parents for about half of my childhood/adolescence.

No cheating. She moved with him to a different state for his job. He came home and said he'd rather see his kids 12 days a month than be miserable every day.

Yeah, this seems like more of a topic about just an overall shitty human being than the general philosophy of divorce.

I could see why a man would wanna leave during pregnancy. But chances are they'll work it out when bebe 2 is born.

Damn. Who knows. There are two sides to everything. I wouldn’t wish divorce on anyone, but some people just completely suck together.

...and once he gets older, he'll be expected to drive all over creation for holidays so nobody gets left out meaning that time off becomes a chore, driving him to loathe them.
