Ive seen that too.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks cell phones have been too much, too soon in the technological race.
I think the worst aspects are social media that people utilize to document every thing they do.
We have created an extremely lazy society where people can’t even leave the house to pick up food.

Shouldn’t you have been enjoying the concert, Alanis Morisette?
What does me people watching and laughing at idiots have to do with cell phones ruining humanity? Your response is just as nonsense as Alanis's understanding of the definition of irony.

Cell phones were great. Then apps and social media came into existence, and people today can't function without them, and that is really sad.

Also, this isn't just millennials. I was at the Rolling Stones concert in NOLA last month and there were tons of old boomer types watching the entire concert on their phone screen. It was pathetic really.
We can't see the stage any longer. Cut us a break!

I have a lot to say on this but will have to come back later!

Cell phones will see the public lose resiliency

Downside: most people are anxious and depressed
Upside: The pharmaceutical industry is thriving.

I have zero problem with any of this. The more technology the better.

Cell phones, like most things in life, are what you make them.
If you choose to engage more with your phone than with other people, then that’s on you.. Like social media, or the automobile- they can be useful tools, to stay connected with family, or to get you from point A to point B.. or they can be horrible, like creating incessant drama on Facebook, or getting behind the wheel of a car after several beers, turning it into a deadly weapon.

We’re at the point where technology has surpassed human’s ability to process it, and manage it.
Agreed wholeheartedly. Its also introduced a lot more stress than it’s relieved in our lives, especially work related when trying to manage the constant phone calls, texts, emails, and the Johnny on the spot expectations that have arisen from it all.

The biggest downside is the obvious. The digital addiction is creating social incompetence.
