Asymptomatic people, which the vaccine helps ensure, don’t spread the virus. People who are vaccinated and showing symptoms can spread the virus.

Or not, per the article:

quote:

The CDC now recommends that vaccinated people who have been exposed to COVID-19 get tested for the virus - even if they don't have symptoms.

quote:

Some vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant after vaccination may be contagious and spread the virus to others," Walensky said Tuesday afternoon on a press call. "This new science is worrisome and unfortunately warrants an update to our recommendations."

When you accept that there is a such thing as "public health", you will eventually have Nanny Staters running your life, be it banning soft drinks, cigarettes, fatty foods or locking the country down because of a virus. In a free country, the only concept that should matter is one's individual health. Based on that, you can allocate risk accordingly.

If the data proves the vaccine works and people in hospitals are vast majority unvaccinated then the government shuts shite down again because of those numbers, then why wouldn’t I care?

Then the government has overstepped and your frustration should be directed at the government

True but you are much less likely to catch and consequently spread it when vaccinated. Data out of The Uk says that the mRNA vaccines are still roughly 85% effective in stopping symptomatic infection and 97% effective in stopping by severe infections.

The cdc is concerned that asymptomatic vaccinated people are spreading it. This is why they are urgently telling vaccinated people to be tested if they have been exposed. You are working with old recommendations.

Did you read the article?

No shite. This was known several months ago by people looking at the raw data. I was laughed at for even positing this as a possibility then.

Dang Soros and Gates making even more money.

That's all this is about. The more tests, the richer those types of guys get.
The more tests, the more positives.
The more cases, the more the government can tell us what to do and keep this stupid cycle going.

The problem here isn’t the vaccinated people

I know 100% where I got da romas in Dec, and the person was asymptomatic. Came down with the same very mild symptoms I did right around same time.

I think this article is poking a hole in this theory. Pretty soon we will see that vaccinated people are catching this just as often and spreading it just as much as unvaccinated people.

The CDC realizes they have a problem and they are not sure how to handle it.

Thus the response of having vaccinated people wear masks and now get tested if exposed and asymptomatic.

They could start by shutting the frick up.

But what concerns me more than anything is the hospitals being overwhelmed. At least in my area that hasn’t been an issue yet but they are seeing an uptick among the unvaccinated.

You mean like in Arkansas and all the states that surround it? You mean like the good doctor there who recently said their ICU was completely overwhelmed, they had no beds, and neither did the states around them because they, too, were overwhelmed? You mean that good doctor who was immediately proven to be a hysterical, sensationalist, attention whoring liar? You mean you're worried about hospitals being overwhelmed like that good doctor lied about?

I bet you were one of her 55k+ likes on that bullshite tweet she put out.

ETA: Two downvotes. I guess at least two people are 100% okay with a doctor at a hospital/ER publicly lying and fear mongering? The fact that she will probably face no ramifications for a whopper of a lie that is completely irresponsible and dangerous doesn't matter to some folks.

Good to know.

Damn you are dense

The point is if you are vaccinated then there is no problem. Live your life, don’t worry about the vaccination status of others.

You don’t worry on a daily basis what your coworker’s blood sugar is. And that’s much more likely to kill them.

Wasn't an issue at any point last year and no chance it will be this year.
