Does anyone know if this is localized to China only?
I have a friend in Cambodia right now. They are staying at some very swanky resorts but I don't think this is just slummies that are affected.

We also don't know how transparent China is being with the information. This is a huge travel time in China, so there is some incentive for the govt and state media to downplay something like this.
