He'll be called to the stand. Defense will of course try to attack his credibility personally. By tomorrow, HailHail will post a thread from some blog outlining how this witness is sketchy and it's all a liberal setup.

Why would anyone attack someone who continues to paint the picture that this wasn’t a race based crime but rather due to an a-hole cop taking out a personal vendetta?

This has been mentioned multiple times from "non-mainstream" media, along with Chauvin's repeated history as a terrible cop.

Interesting that these are released as the memorials, protests, and riots are winding down...

Does this mean race had nothing to do with it and he didn't murder him because he was a black man?

Here’s the problem. They don’t care.

This whole thing was called racist because a white man killed a black man.

From what I’ve heard, that’s it.

They don’t care about George Floyd. They’re using his corpse to further their own agenda.

Man Who Said George Floyd and Derek Chauvin Knew Each Other Now Says He Confused Floyd With Someone Else

BY MATTHEW IMPELLI ON 6/11/20 AT 10:24 AM EDT

quote:

man who previously stated that George Floyd and Derek Chauvin knew each other, has changed his story and stating that there was a "mix-up between George and another fellow co-worker."

quote:

Despite Pinney's previous comments, on Wednesday he sent an email to CBS News saying that he had confused Floyd with someone else. Maya Santamaria, the former owner of the El Nuevo Rodeo club, first connected Pinney with the news outlet. "She [Santamaria] specifically said she was unable to give detail information about George because she did not have a close relationship with him as I did," Pinney wrote in his email, suggesting that this was one of the reasons he confused Floyd with someone else.

George Floyd's brother says he believes Derek Chauvin's motivation was 'personal' Philonise Floyd told lawmakers he believes Derek Chauvin kept his knee on his brother George Floyd’s neck for “personal” reasons.

quote:

“No, sir. I don’t really know why he did it,” Floyd answered. “But personally, I think it was personal because they worked at the same place. So for him to do something like that, it had to be premeditated.”

George Floyd and Chauvin worked security at the same nightclub for years before their deadly encounter. A former co-worker told CBS News this week that the two had a history of not getting along. “They bumped heads ... It has a lot to do with Derek being extremely aggressive within the club with some of the patrons, which was an issue,” former co-worker David Pinney told CBS Evening News. When Pinney was asked if there was any doubt in his mind that Chauvin knew Floyd, he said the former officer knew him “pretty well.”

The Floyd family has said they believe Floyd’s death was partly personal, and their attorney has called for the former officer to be charged with first-degree murder, “because we believe he knew who George Floyd was,” CBS Evening News reports. “I know that he knew him,” Philonise Floyd said Wednesday during the hearing. “Everybody knew him ... And it has to be racist. It has to be something to do with racism.”

quote:

Just before the start of my career two decades earlier, I was out smoking cigars with friends, celebrating my imminent departure for military training. On my drive home in the wee hours of the morning on an isolated stretch of interstate, reflections of blue lights lit up the car’s interior. Within minutes, I stood handcuffed as one policeman ransacked my car and the other informed me that one of my headlights was out. And then, adding matter-of-factly the real reason for the stop, “Besides, we saw you smoking that blunt” — using slang popularized by rap artists for a cigar filled with marijuana.

By the end of the ordeal, I was stuffed into the backseat of a police cruiser on my way to jail, arrested — not for the headlight or the tobacco in the cigar butt wisping in the ashtray but because, as an absent-minded college student, I’d forgotten to renew my license after it expired several weeks earlier.

It reminded me of the conversation back in the Pentagon during my last week in uniform. I told my colleague that since my 16th birthday I’d been pulled over about 40 times by police

If it was you getting harassed like this by the police you'd be rioting too.
