Reality - "ghost" guns are 0.3% of firearms used in crime

Ghost gun sounds scary, so that's all that matters.
Now the MSM can claim it's a big problem, and upper middle class white women will have a new thing to complain about on social media.

"They're trying to appeal to a certain segment of the population," Dave Hamilton, then a senior special agent ATF, told Evans in 2018. "Felons who can't go to a gun store and legally purchase a firearm, or people who just don't want the government knowing what type of firearms they have."

I have a 12 gauge double barreled shotgun made in 1897 by the American Gun Company without a serial number.
Would this be considered a ghost gun?
No. It is legal to own a firearm that was manufactured before 1968 without a serial number. Many manufacturers didn't put a serial number on a gun until 1934 due to the GA of 1934.

They just want to take guns. They really can't be dumb enough to believe their own bullshite.

They started using "ghost gun" long before 3D printers. Idiots out in California would attach every possible accessory to a ruger 10-22 and the leftist and white suburban women would clutch their pearls.

Fun fact: it's actually illegal for the federal government to develop and maintain a database of firearm ownership. Congress passed that into law because, shockingly, people "just don't want the government knowing what type of firearms they have."

So this will be an educational thread for some of us.
Apparently educational to those that also ask "What is a Juggalo?".

Pre 1899 guns are not 'guns' in the eyes of the feds... or weren't.
They can't put the genie back in the bottle, you can make a semi auto carbine with out a single gun part with a 3d printer and a 12v battery charger and some hardware store parts.
Most people 3d printing are just doing it because they can, not because they need to make their own guns... This is all very dumb.

Funny that is verbatim what my local news caster read last night 9 hours away from south la.
All guns in the wrong hands are dangerous CBS. We don’t register guns CBS. ATF can only trace to the original purchaser if bought new.

Ghost guns aren't illegal they are just undocumented so I say we should rename them "dreamer guns"

Okay. So why not focus on enforcing the law and restoring order in American cities instead?
