Is this one those hilarious guns were lost in a boating accident posts? If not, what the hell were you doing with multiple guns on a boat in false river?

so I don’t think serial numbers matter much anymore.
They do if you want to keep a gun registry.

They'll try to regulate upper receivers, I bet.
The feds are keeping a defacto registry. They accumulate these records when a business goes under.

We should promote more ghost guns so maybe the trash will stop breaking into cars.

Who really thinks a felon has a problem buying a gun. Lol
Felons ain't going to the store and buy a new piece.

Or assembling a gun out of fabricated parts or 3d printed parts.
The government is deflecting. They are blaming ghost guns for the spike in violence when it's their own stupid progressive policies that have lead to this spike in violence.

Troubling to me that they have mentioned fire control parts and bolt carrier groups when talking about regulating these so called ghost guns. Does that mean you won’t be able to buy a bolt or trigger group without an ffl as it will be a serialized part? Also would each of these parts now be treated as a fire arm as they are necessary to make one function? They want to ban all guns make no mistake and this is just another way they can erode the right without the masses noticing.

Removing the serial number immediately makes any gun untraceable. It's all for show, just so they can say they're doing something about these "guns" that are going out and committing crimes.

A senior administration official said the ATF was able to trace fewer than 1% of the approximately 45,000 ghost guns recovered during criminal investigations between January 2016 and December 2021, reported CBS News' Bo Erickson. Almost 700 of the incidents were homicides or attempted homicides, the official said.
Something is frickee about those numbers. 45,000 “ghost guns” recovered in 5 years during criminal investigations?
Tell me again specifically, what is the definition of a ghost gun? There weren’t 45,000 3-D guns recovered. I highly doubt there were 45,000 obliterated serial numbered guns.
They have to be using the 45,000 number to reflect all guns recovered where they simply don’t know who the owner is.
This looks like a push for mandatory federal gun registration.

Although crime is up, it still isn't where it was in the 60, 70, 80s and most of the 90s when there were no 3D printers to create ghost guns.
But I do know drug addiction is up and thats good for street dealers, which means more territorial wars.
Being able to print a "ghost gun" just means they don't have to buy one on the street.
But like most laws.. As long as it makes some people feel good that's all that matters.

I have a 12 gauge double barreled shotgun made in 1897 by the American Gun Company without a serial number.
Would this be considered a ghost gun?

Typical liberal BS. How many AR's are used in mass shootings? How many are hurt in mass shootings? How many baws are involved in mass shootings?
The answer to all of those questions is significantly less than any liberal cares to admit.
There are far more car accident fatalities involving minivan-driving suburban karens that voted for Biden than AR or ghost-related fatalities.

Similar thing happened to me. No accident involved, and my guns are still on board. Problem is that I left them on a ghost ship.

Cheaper to buy a stolen gun on the street than build a Polymer 80 pistol. P80 may be cheaper if you have a box of parts sitting around. The ghost gun doesn't need a serial number till you sell it. And you run afoul of the law if your intent is to build them to sell.

OK liberals…. For your next trick, show me all the ghost guns collected from bad guys.
The crickets and I will be waiting for your replies.
This has NOTHING to do with ghost guns. It’s political posturing right out the gates, but it’s also a foothold to get you used to heavier restrictions down the line, and you can bet that they are coming, but the thinking is that once they get you to nibble at the worm, you’ll eventually swallow the whole thing. Tyranny depends upon us, and I don’t have much confidence in us anymore. That’s a fact.
