Mid-Late December is fog season here

Good day to work from home. Many people commuting likely have jobs that would allow for that but maybe work for some O-T bosses that WFH is dumb.

It’s a nice drive. The bonnet carre is what sucks now. They should charge a $10 toll on both sides of the Causeway to lighten traffic and let the masses take I-12.

Or just don't allow women to drive on the bridge.

Who knows. But I see a lot of commercial trucks speeding and driving recklessly across. As well as regular vehicles. It would be safer and less traffic if commercial and oversized vehicles had to use the interstate vs causeway.

Is it open? If not, any word on when? Landing in an hour at MSY and will be heading to the north shore.

But before phones/pocket TVs, the banks didn’t finance a car for every non-contributing zero burnout with a pulse. There used to be consequences and accountability.

The southbound lanes are open... That's all I read.. So I assume the northbound lanes are still closed but I bet they have those open for the 5 o'clock commute...

Not to the same extent.

Is this a joke? They lowered the speed limit on the Atchafalaya Basin bridge to 60 mph in 1999 due to frequent horrible accidents.

Not to cast doubt on anyone, but maybe someone was fixing their GPS for all the turns you make on a straight 24 mile bridge.

Probably should not allow 18 wheelers and amazon deliveries on the causeway between 6am - 8am on fog days.

I was on the Causeway before the accidents happened around 7am. I was going around 50mph and vehicles were flying past me at a minimum 75 mph, tailgating and weaving in/out of traffic. Maybe they should’ve started a convoy sooner, but also I think monitoring and ticketing people for speeding/tailgating/reckless driving needs to be more aggressive from the Causeway Police. People were driving like it was the Autobahn in dense fog. It’s insane.
