St. Aloysius will always be a great school because the parents of the kids who go there won't let it go down. John Bennett is a once in a lifetime principal no doubt. Having said that, it was a great school before he got there and will be great after he retires.

You went to Sacred Heart but would still choose OLOM....any particular reason why?

I have nothing bad to say about Sacred Heart. It prepared me just fine for Catholic High, which is the ultimate goal of all these schools. We commuted to BR from Zachary so it was by far the most convenient for us.

That being said, it is obviously in a worse part of town, no grass, old building, didn't have football when I was there etc.

JB will be sorely missed no doubt. But the parental support will ease the transition for whomever they bring into replace him. I'm glad this is my child's last year there.

Aside from booking crappy bands for their fair, OLOM is a good school and would be my choice of the two.

John Bennett is retiring so that place is going to start going downhill quickly without him. Proud St. Al grad here, so I hope I'm wrong. But he made that place what it is today.

Huh? You can see into the future?

The explanation you give here^ is a prediction not fact, perhaps Mssr. Bennett's replacement will do even better things than he did.

It doesn't matter. She's still going to get laid by the same shitty public school douche either way.

Did I end the sentence with "and that's a fact"? No, I did not.

How about this: I PREDICT that the place will not be as strong moving forward without John Bennett at the helm. Happy?

My kids are at Mercy and we couldn't be happier. The administration is top notch and have made drastic improvements in their short time there already.

SJV is a good school. They are currently building a Gym and renovating other parts of the campus.

How is sacred heart the worst? I have a bunch of first and second cousins that went there and they all ended up and CHS/SJA.

What did I miss?

How about this: "The school is losing their long-term jam-up principal after this year. They'll be hard-pressed to do as well with his replacement."

Mercy's always been good and it's on a huge upswing right now.

Can still get a quality education at Sacred Heart.

So ppl think it's a not so great school b/c it's outside of their "comfort zone".

god I hate sheltered people

Yeah any of these schools will get your kid into SJA/CHS unless they are completely retarded, and if that's the case then it doesn't matter where they go.

I would pick the cheaper of the two/one closest in geography and roll with that if you want your kid at one of those high schools.

How does that have anything to do with comfort zone? Of the 2 schools I would choose OLOM. Location is a factor correct? And I already know you are trying to make this about race but it's not. I don't like SH because of all the traffic around the school as well as it would be the hardest to get to for me.

My nephew got in to SH and my sister chose Westdale bc it was a few blocks away.

The people I know with kids at Sacred Heart love it because it's smaller and they feel more like part of a family in their school community. A few have also said that they felt like their kids got more attention there in regards to problems/special concerns. But I've never heard anything bad about OLOM either and know people who love it there.
