I remember when Lil Wayne wouldn't curse and it was a HUGE deal when he said "i don't curse, but in this verse, frick the World"

Weird flex, considering he's a convicted child sexual assaulter.

Is he? This was a long time ago.
It was a pot transfer house. They thought i was a cop one time and made me smoke a lot of weed. I rolled up a QP. I just remember getting free weed and cds.

Yikes. Nine. I never knew that. That was just two years later. That's crazy.
Damn.

Just a few bars after he claimed he got shot... whilst leaving out the crucial detail he shot himself, like a fricking tard.

No Limit's Bout it Bout it was the first song of this genre I remember hearing. For that reason alone I was No Limit through high school in 99'. Tru"s Tru 2 da Game 2 CD set was awesome.

Then at LSU I roomed with 2 guys from Slidell that were all about Cash Money. It grew on me.

All these years later Juvenile's 400 degrees as well as the Big Tymers, Lil' Wayne's stuff still holds up, while the No Limit stuff seems more cliche'.

One other point though to the Silk haters... This one was a banger.

I've seen some love for Swisha House and the Houston scene. That was good stuff too at the turn of the century. Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Lil' Flip, Slim Thug... After Da Kappa albums that were dropping regularly.

I just read the whole thread and no love for UGK. That was one of the first rap cassettes I ever heard. I think they were from Beaumont/Orange, TX area.

I am a 50 year old white dude from southeast GA and Still Fly and several others is on every playlist I have created in the last 20+ years. No Limit was huge, but burned out fast.

Mannie will make em ba, ba-ba, ba ba Rocky Balboa.

Cash Money landslide.
