Did you sign a contract & if so, which atty for the firm signed it? Of course, knowing lawyers, there is probably language in the contract that allows the firm to do this. The quote from W.S. never gets old: "First, kill all the lawyers".

Sorry your family has had a terrible incident and hope things work out favorably. I'm not in the camp of all dogs can be saved and am surprised AC released the dogs back to the "owners" multiple times.

Recently 2 young kids were attacked by wild dogs in ATL, the 6 year old boy died, the 5 year old girl got released from the hospital last week after being there 6 weeks undergoing multiple surgeries. Animal control stated they could easily pick up 80+ street dogs in a day in that area if they had resources. A Border collie was one of the dogs involved. Thanks for lessening someone's Pitbull illusion, too.

Probably a good sign.
The Shakespeare quote is from a scene where they are plotting to take away everyone's rights, and property, for no good reason.

Dude, you need to stop posting details of this legal issue on the Internet. You never know who is reading. You should clean up your posts in these two threads:

When opposing counsel sends a discovery requesting asking you to identify all internet posts about the case, you will have to divulge this shite ribbon.

If you want to know why it was transferred, ask the new lawyer.

Ask for this thread to be deleted and delete any of your other posts about this incident.

Congrats on becoming an OT baller

Means that upon further review of your case, they found out that whoever you're suing has a combination of lots of money and high limits on insurance.

Staff attornies usually handle cases with smaller potential damage awards. Your case obviously has potential for a really big settlement so the boss of the firm wants to handle your case personally himself.

There's usually not a huge amount of liability limits on a homeowners policy. I'm assuming that's who you're suing? Have you obtained limit amounts?

Most homeowners insurance liability is 300-500k but if they have an umbrella policy then that could be anywhere from another $1-5 million

It depends, wealthier people carry higher limits. I disagree most are 3-5. Majority I've seen is $100k for the average joe. And I've never seen an average joe with an umbrella policy. If OP lives somewhere like CCLA, then maybe I could see your scenario.

I sell homeowners insurance and 98% of the homeowner policies I write are either 300 or 500k on liability. Only do less than 300k if the person is just trying to cut every corner they can to keep premium at rock bottom.

Umbrellas are pretty rare for me to write though...maybe between 3-5% of my clients actually purchase one and almost all of those are either $1M or $2M
