The FBI announced the charges Tuesday, identifying each of the defendants as members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation street gang. Though Casanova—legal name Caswell Senior—has only been charged with the aforementioned crimes, some of his fellow defendants have been indicted on everything from assault and identity theft to attempted murder and murder.

I suspect that there is quietly being a RICO (either state rico or the big boy) built up against the rap groups in BR. Will be interesting to see. Even though I find the entire concept somewhat unconstitutional.

Why would they waste resources when the local government wants it this way?

Baton Rouge elected officials like having high poverty and crime. We all know it.

Feds would be stupid to waste resources and time doing anything here

The Fed's love high profile rapper targets. The issue is that they don't rush investigations and it takes a long time for the wheels of justice to get to turning. I will say it seems like a lot of the "reputed" gang members in BR are getting slaps on the wrist for stuff that seems ridiculous, which is how it goes when the Fed's are working on something bigger. Then again, it could totally just be incompetence on the local level.

The reliance on govt. at any level to correct any problem is a false reliance. Govt. does not rectify anything, it causes problems to extend it's power.

If you rely on govt. to fix things you will never live outside a broken system.

yeh this is also true. But when money starts getting flaunted, charges start not sticking at the State level, people start/keep getting murdered, and it's all highly visible on social media, the Federal government takes notice.
