Seems disrespectful and trashy to tailgate a vehicle that is driving over the limit already.
If you’re riding in the passing lane and you’re not passing and someone wants to pass you, get the frick out of the way, your speed is irrelevant

I'm usually 8 mph over and I stay in the left lane unless I need to cross someone going slow. I never ever tailgate though, and if you ride my arse in the left lane at that speed you can just get over and cross me on the right. Or you can stay back there and wait for the brake check. Totally up to you.

I see crap like this five nights a week going from Kenner to Gonzales at 11:00 pm. For some reason one car will get in the left lane and match the speed of a car ahead of me. Neither car accelerated ahead of the other. It’s like a rolling blockade. Half these fools have to be liquored up.
I was doing 78 the other night in the right lane and some dude passed me on the shoulder. Seriously ?

The left lane is for passing within the speed limit. It doesn’t mean you can drive over the speed limit just because you are passing a car. If that is the case, then you could drive 100 mph in the left lane.

two lane road, just take your foot of the gas and slow down gradually so they can pass. Get over to the right to help them pass if you can do so safely.

I agree. If it’s a one lane road, it’s so stupid to tailgate instead of just passing safely
If it’s a two lane road, just don’t be turtling in the left lane on purpose.
