They even have a word for the worst of their very bad slums

Yeah but did you know Mobile was the first Mardi Gras.
Yes, I have been reminded of this multiple times per day for the past 15 years from people who live in Mobile, AL - It's the only thing they have going for that dump

Isn't the video in OP AI?

After looking closely it does seem to be Ai. I came across another video of New Orleans Mardi Gras that also looked perfect and organized- i.e. nothing like real life.. However, I watched Ro's Sambadrome parade last year on a live feed and the float sizes, costumes and amount of people are comparable. and the Sambadrome is real but maybe not the perfect fireworks
I only watched the first few minutes and did not consider AI being a possibility. Welcome to 2026 I suppose.

Yeah, they don't have parades that go down city streets like we do. The parades are in a giant stadium with a ticket to get in. The parades are not really a party — that's what the big block parties are for.

lived in Rio de Janeiro for eight months back in 2009, it is every bit as advertised… the food, the women…. And carnival is just fricking next level
Pretty bold claims from someone who lived there less than a year. If it was so wonderful why didn’t you stay there?

Rio has more people than LA, MS and Alabama combined. It’s a mega city.

I was there for work and I moved back when my project was over. Trust me, I would’ve loved to stay longer.

Why are these bold claims? you don’t think that living in any city for eight months would give you a very good idea of the culture in that city?
If you ever visit Rio de Janeiro, it won’t take but a few hours to realize the food and the women are amazing

I don’t see any blinky beads, footballs or swords being thrown. No way those people are having fun
