I hope no unfortunate passengers were in that section of the ship.

From looking at google image pics, it looks like it has one drop down azimuth thruster and 3 tunnel thrusters up forward and three tunnel thrusters and two conventional props on the stern. They may have lost power to some of those thrusters though. Who knows

Yeah possibly

If you watch the other video from the rear angle you can see some heavy black smoke coming out of the port stack

These ships weight so much that it's going to take time to make a turn no matter what. Plus all that wind blowing against the ship doesn't help.

Glory was trying to dock in Cozumel, in high wind / rough chop seas, captain must have lost control, the aft swings across the bow of the Carnival Legend and knocks out a pretty good size chunk of the Glory's aft main dining room.

It will buff right out.

Lol ya think? Looking at the picture, I can say with certainty that this will take many weeks, if not a couple of months to repair.

First they gotta get it to Florida to the shipyard. It will be a couple months at least before it’s fully repaired.

I believe Carnival takes their ships to the Bahama Shipyard. This is the worse time this incident could happen cause of the holidays

I think that’s where they drydock them. They shouldn’t need to drydock for this repair, but yeah. Bad timing

From John Heald's(Carnivals Brand Ambassador)page on Facebook:

"Carnival Glory had an allision with Carnival Legend this morning in Cozumel. Carnival Glory was maneuvering to dock when it made contact with Carnival Legend which was already alongside.

We are assessing the damage but there are no issues that impact the seaworthiness of either ship. We have advised guests from both ships to enjoy their day ashore in Cozumel.

There is one reported minor injury of a Carnival Glory guest that occurred when a group of guests were evacuated from the dining room on Decks 3 and 4."

Most cruise ships now have fore and aft thrusters and no longer use harbor tugs unless mandated by the harbor they are docking in.

In other news, Carnivals currently under construction ship, Mardi Gras, has been delayed resulting in 8 cruises being cancelled. What a shitty day for Carnival
