10. I’m not a guy, and the people just hanging

I used to cut through the area around the Washington Street exit to get to work downtown.

The amount of able bodied men that were just hanging out on the front porch or strolling along the neighborhood was astonishing.

Doing absolutely NOTHiNG at 10:00 in the morning or lte afternoon.

fricking lazy parasites.

Isn't really that close to Spanish Town. Wrong side of the Interstate.

It's close to Spanish Town, but everyone familiar with the area knows that each side of the interstate is drastically different from one another.

The headline was a clear attempt to connect a traumatizing event with a safer neighborhood for emotional effect.

Hmmm. 1/4 mile away, just a couple of blocks north. I wonder if it could be the same guys who tried to carjack Allie ?

Then you haven’t driven in some areas I’ve accidentally driven through, like Terrace St. from Park Blvd. to get to I 10. I’m not a guy, and the people just hanging out and leering at me made me thank the Lord I got through it and will never, ever go down that street again.

I've never found the Bottom to be that bad. I used to drive through the Bottom every day on the way home from LSU. I'd drive down Howard St from Highland to avoid the backup on Louise St. Howard St is a little one way road. I drove down it so much the ladies who sat on their porch every day started waving at me and I'd wave back. Some guy got shot and killed right there at the McKinley Alumni Center one night but I never felt unsafe driving through there.

By far the worst area of BR I've ever seen and driven through is Gus Young around North Acadian. That part of town is fricked.

Underrated terrible area is the neighborhood around Belaire High School. That area is so fricked the color has drained from it. Everything looks dim and lifeless.

ETA: That turned into an Oweo post

Hold my beer..........I picked up people doing medical transportation all over the worst parts of Baton Rouge. Take a drive around East Brookstown, St. Katherine, Elm, Prescott/Mohican,Glen Oaks, Pockets off of Gardere. I could go on!

I used to run parts for an industrial shop off of Plank Road in high school. Spent all day driving around NBR. Brookstown is certainly a top 5 BR hood.

I had to do community service litter detail and they took us to Gus Young and Acadian. There really aren’t words to describe that shithole part of town. The amount of foil cigar wrappers, lottery tickets, liquor bottles and syringes were off the charts. You could see where people just stood on the corner and tossed their trash wherever. Abandoned Burned down houses everywhere, vagrants, etc. Straight ghetto trash. If those people care so little about there community, we have no reason to give a shite about it either.

I received the notification from WAFB earlier. It seems like WAFB sends out notifications for pretty much anything now..

I would think car jackings would be more common.

doesn't mean they aren't happening. Sure the local media and authorities keep as much quiet as they can.

Carjackings aren't common in Baton Rouge, at all.
