Rational? I guess in a way. But you have to know that bragging about being content to not work while living off of the taxpayer money of others that do is going to rub people the wrong way.
I wasn't bragging. I made my point. Then the local douchebags here got pissy, so I started trolling.
And I am a taxpayer.

This is why they always have signs in national parks about feeding the wild animals. They become dependent on hand outs instead of getting food for themselves.

But do you see how the extra money being so much is hindering the economy getting back on track. We are at double digit unemployment and there are people choosing not to work because it is less profitable for them.

Also why do you say you wouldn’t have healthcare? Any company that employees over 50 people has to offer health care to full time employees.

The enhanced UI benefits absolutely should have been income based and capped. I'm taking an economic hit. My job paid way more than what I'm getting on unemployment. A lot of people are making more money on UI then they were before.
I think reinstating job search requirements would fix a lot of the fraud. Unemployment offices and employers should have been given more resources to fight fraud.

quote:And how long can the economy sustain paying tens of millions of people almost $1000 dollars a week to not produce or contribute anything? Also you keep referring to “putting money back into the economy,” or “supporting the economy”. Why don’t we just give everyone a million dollars and that way they can put that money back into the economy? That’s not how shite works.
I’m not looking for a job at Wal-Mart though. If I don’t get that extra UI benefit, I’m not putting money back into the economy, and in paying rent and groceries before I pay any student loans or personal debt back. How long will the economy hold up when tens of millions of people start doing the same thing?

quote:wrong. This is not unemployment paid by employees or employers. This is a special benefit created to address the virus. And if you think these people want to return to work and make less, ask any small business owner. I know a number of business owners and they can't get most of there former employees to answer their calls. They will be returning those calls if this ridiculous BS is not extended.
Well his prior company paid into it. Its insurance not welfare

I wouldn't work at your grandad's nursing home in good times. Those are death centers.....get to clean up an octogenarian's excrement? No way....you can keep that job and your thousand dollars

Critics say many unemployed are not looking for work because the make more staying on the increased unemployment.
And those critics are 100% correct.

The economy had no problem running the Iraq war on credit, and had no problem bailing big banks out for their own frickup.

Speak for yourself. I take that money and I pay rent, utilities, groceries, meals at restaurants, food at my local farmer's market, and on and on and on.

You're right. Let's just give it all to big businesses and hopefully some of it will trickle back down to the average American.
