66 Fastback.
Built the 289 w a Crower cam, Eldebrock manifold, Doug Thorley headers, shaved/ported heads w bigger valves. C4 was built, B*M torque converter, 4.11 gears. Not much top end but a beast off the line.
Drove it to HS first three years in Chas, SC, then all over Natch parish for senior year. Lots of memories.
Still in my garage.

nice truck
I did not get one until I was out of school and paying for it on my own, but 89-99 Z-71's were what every young man wanted during the 90"s.

It was a great starter for me. This was the early 2000s though not the 90s, so it was dated a bit by then. The power steering wasn't the best but it never left me stranded and ended up being a great hunting truck once I upgraded.

Powder Blue Four Door '77 Ford LTD.
Had power everything- and I thought I was Richard Petty.
Like this one- but in powder blue, four door.

My first car was a 1975 Malibu Classic with a 305 cu in
Mine was a 77, but almost just like the one in the article I pictured, even that red paint that aged to a hideous hue. That 305 is what mine had and it was totally inadequate for a car that damn heavy.
At least the 75 had round Monte Carlo style headlights instead of the stupid double rectangles.

1980 F100. Light blue and a lot of rust. Wish I still had that thing.

This thread is reminding me of all the vehicles my brother crashed and/or blew up
Geo Metro/Toyota Tercel/Pontiac Sunbird/Suzuki Samuri- none of my first cars are even made any longer
My husband had a Ford Maverick, a Ford Granada, and an El Camino- none of those are made any longer either
Obviously we had those cars after high school not just in school

That's how I leaned to drive a manual transmission.
My second car was a 59 Ford Fairlane with 3 on the tree but the motor had been replaced by a buddy of mine before he sold it and the motor came out of a state police cruiser. Serious HP upgrade and I snapped U-joints on my drive shaft a couple times before beefing things up to handle the torque.
I wish I still had that car-----------along with the 59 Harley Panhead I also owned at the time.

Another government failure…
Yep. That era of catalytic convertors were so bad, people were too embarrassed to steal them. Then again, crystal meth hadn't been invented yet...

My son is 15, he wants a 90's Silverado Z71 so bad.. Every time we see one, he has to take a pic of it...
