First off, not OT rich
Second, don't care it's a Bentley wannabe, see "First off"
Third, I searched Dodge Charger and nothing showed up, so sorry if Germans and has been asked
Finally, Yes, 7thWard will probably be in here so no need to call him

Looking to purchase a new (or slightly used)car and was looking at the Chargers. Been driving a 97 Camry since high school and it's about to get the Ole Yeller treatment. I need a me car before I make the family car jump and it's around the price range I want.

Has anyone or know anyone that have the '13 or '14 model and their thoughts on it? Problems with the car?

My wife's cousin has a 2013 RT. It has heated and cooled leather and suede seats, nav, moonroof etc. He averages about 21mpg combined and hasn't had any issues with it. It's very comfortable and fast. I'd drive one.

What race is the OP? If you are not a Dodge or big body guy, I dont think its a great family vehicle.

There are many more options for fullsize 4 door family vehicles. The Charger is consistently at the bottom of comparison reviews. ive driven a few and I reserve its status as a rental car only. I would only be able to own the higher optioned and SRT8 and even then the styling, feel, interior, etc is pretty boring. Also with Dodge, you get that Dodge resell.

I'd drive one. Chrysler has done a good job of keeping the V-8 rear drive sedan market alive.

My wife drives a white sxt plus 2013. Has all the features. We opted for the v6 instead of the v8 and I'm glad we did. The v8 is very fun to drive, but the v6 gives you right at 300hp and 31mpg hwy. We took it to Houston last month from BR and made it there on half a tank of gas. We averaged about 36 to 37 mpg on the trip. Its very quite and comfortable and plenty of space for the whole family. I would highly recommend it. They usually have good incentives/deals as well.

SRT or nothing. The RT will be a waste of money.

You didn't average 36 mpg in a Charger. No way in hell.

V6 with an 8speed transmission on the hwy is amazing. Better acceleration too. Not too many people know that almost all Dodge Chrysler Jeep products have the 8 speed as standard equipment. It really is a game changer in terms of more usable power and economy at the same time.

this thread has delivered a LOT better than I thought. Honest reviews and good humor. I was expecting much worse

All that said, there is no way in hell you averaged 36 mpg for any sustained amount of time in a Charger with any engine and tranny combo.

Maybe if you were going down grade with a tailwind while drafting a semi at 50mph you could, but I'm guessing that's not the case.

don't get the one with skinny-arse tires. Maybe they've fixed that.

Also, good luck with getting the same reliability as your Camry.
