Agree. I've never understood why car companies nowadays think it's a good idea to blind every vehicle you meet. I personally want oncoming traffic to not be blinded.... Tends to lessen the chance of a wreck.

Drive with a q beam in your car and give them a taste of their own medicine.

Is it really because lights are brighter now? I assumed I am surrounded by dumb fricks who don't know to turn their brights off.
Yes, many of the new lights - particularly on trucks - are very bright even without high beams on. I get brights flashed at me every time I drive my F150 (2 yo) at night. I don't have my high beams or off road lights on either.

So now will you tards who claimed the Michigan cop killed the boy "because he flashed him for bright lights" admit that you are completely full of shite?

on the flipside of the OP, i'm seeing waaaaay more people not having lights on in the dark and when it's raining.

Was driving on the interstate earlier and was thinking the same thing
So many obnoxious headlights on the road

I agree, these Hids were bad and the new LEDS are even worse.
Maybe if they were directed down. I don't notice it as bad in my truck as I do my car.

I'm in a lower car. So if a truck or suburban's lights are really bright, I just chalk it up to my car being at an unfortunate angle (even though they're probably still too bright). But I'm seeing a lot of cars with really bright lights nowadays.

One of my headlights is out. Cant be me that has the OP steamed.
It is if you are one of the people who put their brights on when their headlights are out, rather than just driving to Autozone and paying the $10 for a new bulb.

Do you mean you flip the tab on the bottom, or you actually turn it away? The tab takes away the bright but you can still see behind you.
And you'd be surprised at what Windex will do for glare.

I'm thinking you should blame the manufacturers. I get flashed all the time after I bought a 2013 Tacoma new. I understand they are bright, but it's not like I replaced/upgraded the bulbs or anything.

Seriously thinking about installing get a mirror on back of my car so when one of those douchebags get behind me they get a taste of their own medicine

Can't wait for the light bar fad to go away.

Take the dude's advice from earlier and aim your sideviews directly into their line of sight.
I must be honest, I can't wait to try this.
Wish I had a spotlight to turn toward tailgaters but that's another story.

Your headlights might just be adjusted too high. This is easy to fix. It's the angle of the light being too high, not the brightness.

My truck has a leveling kit and factory projectors in the low beams, but I'm pretty sure all the bulbs are halogen. They're not blue either, they're regular yellow.
I've never had more people flash their lights at me at night time than with this truck. I never have my high beams on while approaching a vehicle. I'd guess 1 out of 10 vehicles I meet flash their lights at me at nighttime on one lane roads.
I have noticed that vehicles have steadily gotten brighter lights, and I'll admit my factory low beams are brighter than any of my other vehicles. Get 30% tint on the windshield to combat that.

Headlight etiquette has gotten worse over the years. I regularly see people drive without lights on in rain or fog, no lights at night, no lights in the morning before sunrise, and the worst...the refusal to turn off high beams when there is oncoming traffic.

I'm glad it's not just me. It is obnoxious. And unsafe as all hell.
