Car decision help

Ok, so I've narrowed my search for a fun, weekend car down to 2.
1. 2000 c5 corvette with 6 speed manual. 67,000 miles. $13,900. Clean carfax.
2. 2000 Porsche Boxster S. 6 speed manual. 50,000 miles. $11,500. Clean carfax.
Both appear to be clean cars. I know about the rear differential leaks in the corvettes and the IMS issues in that vintage Porsche.
Anyone owned either and have any input?
Nb4 some form of OP is gay or a douche.

Tough choice. I like the Boxter and the Vette.
I'd probably look like an even bigger tool in the Boxter than in the Vette....so I'm leaning towards recommending the C5.
Corvette takes a certain sort of man to pull off......(Silicon Valley Reference)

I shy away from foreign cars just for the sake of knowledge on how to repair them. Hell and that's just on Volvo. Not to mention the parts are super expensive at random on foreign cars. I would think it would be easier on something like a Corvette.

The other issue is both are about 450 miles away. Probably would not be able (or willing) to travel to drive both

Vette. You don't want to look like a gay douche in that porche.

The boxster is a fun drive, and won't get away from you as easily.
The corvette looks better and is more fun around here. If I lived near PCH OR blue Ridge I'd go boxster.

Corvette would definitely be cheaper to work on. However, Porsches are incredibly reliable, and the Boxster would hold up much better to normal wear and tear

The timing chain tensioner went out on my boxter at 54k. You could always put a 911 motor and a spider body kit when it blows up.

Yep. In either case, he's looking at an 18 year old car. He will be buying replacement parts.

Of those two choices the Corvette easily.
Don't want to deal with IMS issues abs the Vette is easily modded.

It's my understanding that this was a problem on the pre 2000 Boxsters, I may be wrong.
I'm leaning towards the Corvette right now. I'm not a huge fan of convertibles, but I know the Porsche handles great.

If you are going to keep it stock the Porsche is the way to go. Will have better resale value and better handling. If you are going to upgrade it there are many more options on the corvette. It’s just not a well desired collectible year or model. The Porsche will not depreciate from this point and will be easier to get out of when you sell

There are very few cars more fun to drive than a Boxster and the C5 isn't one of them.
If you want a car to mod on the weekends then get the Vette, if you want a car for exploring the backroads then the Boxster is the answer.

Neither. Go 1960's Batmobile.

Vette rides very rough. If you care about comfort while driving go with the Porsche.

Will the boxter be as collectible as the Corvette in 5-10 years?
I'd go vette

Based on the 2 options you're picking from, I think the soccer board would be better suited to help you decide.
