So y'all don't have any redundancy where y'all work? If a power outage happens your entire facility fails?
I’m not involved with all of that so I really can’t answer correctly. I do know this building should never lose power. Entergy had two surges Wednesday afternoon.
Generators kicked on then back off and then kept going back off and on for about 5 times. Supposedly when the power was restored, the system didn’t switch and that’s what caused the issue.
All I know it’s a cluster frick and everyone that deals with that area, is tight lipped. Especially with all the contracts the company has in the banking world.
Our mainframe is still not fully up as of this morning. So employees couldn’t get into their apps.

Yeah, but they are not going to front you money. This affects regular people. Those deposits are used for rent, car payments, utility bills and the grocery. Given the current economic environment that money is in today and 85% is gone by Tuesday in a normal period.

This problem in nationwide from CA to NY. A power surge regionally should not be affecting like this.

They use third party vendors too. Nobody processes completely in house any more.
People dont understand how many options there are now.
Fintechs galore and new ones popping up each day.
Everyone is about to get their federal taxes back instantly.

And they should owe damages of some sort to account holders. They have a responsibility. A day? It happens. Multiple days? Its negligence.

You live paycheck to paycheck. The day after payday is supposed to be direct deposited your bills auto-pay.
Due to this your paycheck never deposited and your autopay never triggered.
If Cap One clicks back online and tries all the auto debits before the deposits tons of people will have missed payments, over draft fees, and late payment fees. Then the deposits hit and you have to manually go repay all the bills you missed but now you don’t have enough money because of the fees you incurred. It’s not going to be good.
You can’t buy food because you have no cash. You can’t get cash because your paycheck never deposited. You can’t use a credit card because your account is overdrawn you can’t make a payment. There is a freeze coming next week and if this is not fixed today by Tuesday this region will be in a full on panic because they can’t buy freeze supplies and stock up on things they want. They can’t get gas; they can’t get water; they can’t afford to turn on the heat. This is not good.

It's no use trying to use logic.

While power wasn't my area, rapid cycling of anything screws with both physical circuits/breakers and the logical part where a system will start mounting volumes, get turned off, try mounting the volumes again, get turned off, etc.
When power cycling like this happens at home, I turn all the computer shite off until I'm sure it's over with.

Starting Jan. 15, 2025, Capital One began experiencing a disruption in our payment processing and account balance updates, which is due to a technical issue with one of our service providers.
