He and most weather people. Back after Katrina while I was living in the Houston suburbs most all weather people sensationalized and hyped the risk of Rita. After that time I try to pay the least amount of attention to them. They do this hyped weather reporting for ratings rather than public safety as a first objective.

If we can find a report by Joe Bastardi out there, he is one weather person who covers objectively. But he is not on TV and I most commonly hear him on Sean Hannity's radio program.

When you see Cantore, expect BS.

When you see Lootie, run.

What was that storm the was supposed to come for Florida and if you stayed you were gonna die? Moved the football game to TS and then it barely sprinkled in the sunshine state.

Seems I remember one storm the road to CoCoDrie was closed but he thought he was going down there anyway, until the Sheriff Department said he’d be arrested.
Don’t think he’s welcomed back in Terrebone Parish.
He ain’t nothing special, thinks he is but he isn’t. Way over rated. If he was on my property I’d ask him to leave.

Where else would he be able to stand with a yacht club as his background? Give the guy a break. *He is as far west on the lake as he can be in order to get a good background shot.*

Uhh, Rita was a fricking monster, and Houston was incredibly lucky to end up just west of it. That's a terrible example to use of an overhyped storm.

It sucks because the guy does seem very likable.

One of the worst parts is when they tried to justify the wind blowing person by saying the grass was wet.

I'd do it too for the amount of money that he makes.

Quit hating

National media is incredibly ill-prepared to deal with local issues. It’s blatantly obvious when you know the ins and outs of the issue.

Remember this the next time you read a national news story. Do not take national media, or even the media in general, word for anything. Investigate everything.

Rita was a beast but sitting in the northern suburbs about 100 feet above sea level there really wasn't a risk of storm surge. I didn't hear any meteorologist try to dissuade people from evacuation. Did you see the lines of traffic leaving Houston during Rita? I just sat it out in my home without power for a few days but I did not run out of gas on a freeway.
Joe Bastardi is a Penn State graduate which is among the best of meteorology schools in the country. He was with Accuweather but now is with WeatherBell Analytics.
Your knee jerk response about Joe indicates you are a bit of an imbecile!
