A nice, heirloom-ish flask is fine. A 30 dollar one from an engraving place with your initials is lame.
But a Hermes tie is a very nice gift, as would be a Filson umbrella. I wouldn't give the latter, but I'd much prefer receiving it to some soft side cooler or something. I assume this guy has professional, older friends.
Obviously for the people saying they don't wear a tie more than once a year these aren't good gifts.

If I want a tie I'll go buy it, it's a shitting gift. Same with the umbrella, I'll probably forget it the first place I use it

Buy everyone a nice leatherman/gerber multitool and a bottle of bourbon/scotch, or a good icechest. If you drop a few hundred on a tie or an umbrella, no one will appreciate it.

There is a lot of good advice in here. To summarize, if your groomsmen went to community college neither would be a good gift. If they went to graduate school, either would be a decent gift.
But without knowing anything about your groomsmen, a good bottle of whiskey, cigar and a gift card to a local butcher or rarecuts would be great at that price point.

Really glad I didn't go to grad school if it meant I had to spend $150 on an umbrella that works the same way as the $3 version

How about the OP buy each groomsmen a personal well thought out gift for each one of the groomsmen. I never got why people gave all the groomsmen the same lame arse gift.
