just stated that their hysteria causes fest organizers to make the call.
If they have it and it rains guess who gets blamed

WBRZ? He was talking about NOLA, wasn't he?

Since when did scattered showers justify a flash flood watch?
Scattered showers are not being discussed here
Prolonged or multiple thunderstorms have always had the possibility to cause flash floods, particularly in vulnerable (cough south LA cough) areas
Are you new to the area? Are you new to storms? Are you new to weather forecasting?
This is business as usual.

Because it sounds like you’re just talking directly out of your arse
Everything you post is out of your arse. I know your types believe everything the TV tells you. If you can't remember the doom and gloom forecasted over the last 6 weeks, and subsequent government types cancelling major events, well you don't want to see it. I also don't sit and write down quotes the TV guys spew, b/c it is subject to change in the next broadcast.

Well if you read or listened it’s because the system is moving very slowly so whatever areas are hit are going to get a lot.
I don’t like it either. I’m trying to decide when or if to boil, but I’m not going to just ignore it.

It took a catastrophic event for school to close when I was a kid.

Are you telling us you don't see those red cells heading toward NOLA just because it's a Baton Rouge link?

I remember doing to parades and festuvals wearing ponchos. People are soft now

We started when we decided people need to be “compensated” when something goes wrong.
The loss of common sense and the increase in cancellations is directly due to the increase in jackpot “justice”

The weather guys have no power or authority.
They provide an opinion. We choose to accept or reject that opinion.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH
NWS issued that watch. Fradella and the test of the tv mets are just reporting the news

Flash floods are a result of both rain and the crappy drainage infrastructure we have here.

LMAO. And you expect weather forecasters to be that precise? It's storming all over south Louisiana right now

Can you post some specific examples of this “doom casting” that didn’t come true?
Zack fradella's feed is a good starting point.
The only thing he was right on with a decent amount of accuracy was the snowstorm.
I don't have a problem with canceling events when you have a real high degree of certainty on time and place, or even just telling people to be aware of the possibility and playing it by ear as it gets closer.
Meteorologists are playing the "can't be too careful" card way too often.
