You know Disney will make super hero or character masks that they will sell for $9.99 that the kids will be begging you to buy.

Can’t help you on the grandparents side of it.

I’m not sure if they will do that this year. Disney is taking a much harder stance on covid prevention measures than the other parks. They won’t hand out candy. Probably still won’t have parades by then or shows, and especially not meet n greets. Probably should expect that and the Christmas party to be cancelled.

I don’t blame you one bit. The only benefit you will get is a much more empty park. Especially at first. I think magic kingdom will be at 30% capacity, so only 13,500 compared to days when its easily hovering close to 40,000. I think it will be great to view Star Wars land like that and truly get immersed in the land rather than be shoulder to shoulder with every damn person.

My concern is at 30% capacity, they will also reduce hours, reduce ride availability, etc. Plus, social distancing may mean spreading lines out all over the park.

So you can probably expect more like what we’ve seen Universal did with Volcano Bay and what Disney did with the new Star Wars ride. Instead of actually waiting in long lines, you will now be placed in virtual queues. You will sign up online for your spot, and they will notify you or give you a time to come in. So then your line time is only 10ish minutes at max. At least that is my prediction. So even if they do reduce ride capacity, you’re still not waiting in line. You can shop and eat, or if you planned well, you can probably ride everything twice.

That won’t be for very long though. Shanghai can operate at 30% and still run a profit because that is 24,000 guest. Magic Kingdom at 30% though will still be running at a loss, just not as much as the parks being empty.

September is usually a great time to go to places like Disney since school is back in session. That will likely be very different this year since it's been closed for so long.

We’re looking to plan our trip for the annual Louisiana takeover during Mardi Gras. It’ll be our first trip. Hopefully by then, things will have calmed down.

Mardi Gras is best when it doesn't fall the same week as Presidents Day.

In 2021 Presidents Day and Mardi Gras are back to back days, Feb 15th and 16th, expect half the east coast to be there with you.

cancelled our summer trip. saw they are reopening in july, but hard to justify spending all that $$$ with the restrictions in place. We will probably wait a few years.

possibly. I'm waiting for them to discuss what will be done before cancelling, or moving the trip to another year.

Do you have to wear masks while you in the pool?

On the bright side, they're limiting capacity at the parks. So the lines won't be as long.

But we're booked for November. If face masks are still being required by then, we're cancelling and just plan for next year. Not paying that kind of money to be forced to wear a mask for a week straight. Plus its kind of hard to see the joy on your kids' face when its covered by a mask

Why would you book a Disney trip in September. What a random arse month. If you’re not going to do it during the traditional school summer of June through August pick a month when it’s cooler.

We went the last week of September once and it was fine. Its still 90 degrees, but at least you're not standing in hour long lines in that heat. Most rides were 10-15 minutes or less with the exception of Frozen that was still pretty new at the time. Avoid the long lines of summer break from schools but still can enjoy the wet rides, water parks, and pool

OP should have waited. It’s already proven that Disney really isn’t enforcing the masks once you get on property.

I hope they forcefully remove anyone who refuses to wear a mask in the park. I’ve been needing something to fill the YouTube void left by all the stores that pussified their Black Friday sales.

The mask requirement will be gone as soon as people actually try putting a mask on and walking around outside in Orlando Florida in the middle of summer.

One would think.

With the parks reopening mid-July, and the full payment due just two weeks later, really not enough time to know if any of the restrictions will be lifted by the time we got there.
