We had a department wide email about flags being at half staff that included Trump's proclamation.
We get these every time there's a national or state level half staff proclamation.
Someone replied all with just "never."
Me right now:

Yep. The right has now fully embraced cancel culture. The left had already embraced it.

You misunderstood.
People only care about "cancel culture" when it's harming people on their side. When it can harm people on the other side, it isn't "cancel culture", it's "FAFO" and "the consequences of my actions."
Your mistake was in thinking that this was about some kind of principle in the first place.

OP can suck my balls.
A reddit brigade doxxed me in 2020 and flooded my at the time employer (a local TV station) with hundreds of phone calls. Poor receptionist at our front desk was fielding calls non stop all day and overflow calls were routed to the news desk.
All because of a 2 year old reddit post I made that said verbatim "I don't think Christine Blasey-Ford is credible. Brett Kavanaugh should be afforded the assumption of innocence unless more than 30 year old hearsay evidence is introduced into the arena"
They were calling the station asking why they employed a rape supporter who doesn't believe female rape victims.
Even though HR did its investigation and determined I did nothing wrong, I was still suspended for a week anyway to quell the mob inside the station of my fellow co workers who wanted me fired.
You reap what you sow

It's not cancel culture.
It's consequence culture.
It's consequence culture.

My point in all of this was to discuss the slippery slope we're on now as a society where everyone is actively pursuing opportunities to frick over those who disagree with them and that both sides do now actively engage in it.
Trying to get someone fired from their job is such a bitch thing to do. I didn’t like it when it was left wing loons trying to get college professors fired. I don’t like it now. And I agree that none of this would be possible without social media. It really does bring out the worst in people.

This thread is an abortion.

Getting fired because you publicly celebrated the assassination of a public figure isn't "cancel culture."

It aint hard. If you had innate abilities, you would have known this before adulthood.
i'm sorry i'm just not a superior intellect like you Roger... but the point remains... and taking what you said here, if you really feel this way, why no condemnation for some of the political violence we've seen in the past? perhaps I overlooked it, but i don't seem to find any condemnation over the Hortman's assassinations? or was that once acceptable? political violence kinda seems like an all or none situation, not really subjective, but please do explain

It’s flirting with being illegal to have an opinion. The frustrating thing is those piling on (happens with both sides) prob didn’t even know who Kirk was prior to Wednesday.
You’re such a low IQ tard. No one is being arrested, they are being fired. No company wants that public backlash.

No. For our society to advise, we’ve got to eradicate Marxist ideology. Drive these bastards back to the shadows.

This has nothing to do with intelligence, its about being born without a "soul."
You clearly have not the innate abilities and survival instincts most men were born with.
Maybe 2% of Tiger droppings is struggling with this, and you are one.

For misgendering.
Think about that for a minute.
Are you still in rehab? Your mind should be clearer than this if so.

The Left didn’t invent accountability, they just weaponized it. They don’t get to cheer cancel culture when it silences their enemies more mean words about trannies and then cry foul when it catches people on their team celebrating the execution of Charlie Kirk.
Those who can’t tell the difference are disingenuous.

Anyone celebrating the Kirk murder is a sick individual. But it's kind of ironic that people are now scouring social to find anyone posting anything about it and then emailing their employers.
Anyone stupid enough to post a celebratory post of a murder in this political environment has very questionable judgment but this isn't really much different than left wing loons scouring twitter for "offensive" jokes years ago or canceling anyone they disagree with.
I think people are tired of the way many on the left act and they’re ready to give them a taste of their own medicine (meaning the canceling part, not the murdering part).
