What's the old saying, "with great power comes great responsibility"?
Judges have tremendous power, and we need to be sure that she has the temperament required to exercise such power.
Having an 8 year long affair, her texts, and the accusations in her resignation letter, lead me to believes he doesn't have the temperament needed.
This isn't some movie star or football player getting dumped on for their political beliefs (although that is wrong as well).

I found it funny the whole n word sitcheation was the uproar in the media. Not the fact a judge is shacking up with deputies and having it influence the way she does her job.

Wtf is cancel culture
Posted on 2/27/20 at 1:41 pm to deathvalleyfreak43
There was a whole lot more going on than her tweets

Nah, it's probably just lonely small town ladies stuck in their marriage ruts who wet their drawers at the idea of a high ranking guy being interested in them.

She should have been run-off because she was banging a cop who could possibly have cases in her court. Her coarse language was just the icing on the cake. I do not feel sorry for her. She chose poorly.

Weird that you’re thinking about the dude’s dick

The NAACP will demand she be replaced by a black judge.

You may not be the best troll on this site, but you certainly are the worst.

You are a jackass. I agree the cancel culture is bullshite and people need to stop giving into it, but this isn't it.
First of all, she is a judge and is held to a higher standard and was having a relationship, whiled married, with a former top sheriff's deputy, who was also married.
Those who know more than me about this might be able to answer this, but can a judge be removed for having an affair? For some reason I thought it was part of holding judges to a higher standard.
Then she referred to two different black people as the n word. Everyone who is black, who she sent to prison, those cases could be reviewed if challenged right? Did she give harsher sentences to blacks than she did whites? I am sure that's what a lawyer would look at.
But after reading that whole article, she sounds trashy AF.

Reading the resignation letter, you can feel the contempt she has for her side piece -- a guy who was sleeping with a gang of b*tches.
How her husband can even attempt to work thing out is beyond my understanding.

refusing to sign a warrant where the judge has any relationship or might look like she had a relationship, with the cop was the right thing to do. if she signs it, it looks biased. let a judge who is not sleeping with the cop, or the cop's dad, or nephew, or whatever, sign the warrant.
She was been a good judge for many years on the parish court and she's done fine on the district bench, until now. however, her recent foibles certainly justify her exit from the bench.

It's a bigger deal than usual. The verdicts featuring black defendants are now going to be called into question.

Looks like she isn’t going away quietly. Is she ever going to practice as a lawyer in the 23rd JDC again?

No sympathy for someone like her.

I agree she holds an office with a lot of power. People in this position should be held to a higher power.
It seems like she is now going to go after her critics that are in public office or work for the public.
Some good gossip or OT post are going to come out of this.
