So when is the appropriate time to call a spade a spade? Or are we so afraid of hurting liberal feelings that we’re just going to pretend decades of irresponsibility and no consequences is how a civilized society should operate?
I don't know when the appropriate time is, but I do know right now is not it.

somewhat of a shite show
Just wanted to say thank you bee rye for your educated response to my question.
Still, the commitment to fix the system, even if done in affordable stages, like 5 pumps and generators at a time, seems to be mostly abandoned.

You mean besides the upgrades to the system that were just completed?
Maintaining is more important than upgrading.
Unfortunately NOLA residents are stuck between bickering politicians that are more eager to own the other side than actually help solve the problem.

The sun is shining, the water is receding and the mayor of New Orleans said that they did a fantastic job

So did Metairie and New Orleans flood last night or did the pumps work?

Hats off to Teedy. She saved lives last night.

Oh no, liberal women want to ban men from having any free speech! This is a complete shock to everyone. Words you dislike. Sex you regret. That uppity little girl dating your son. Men who speak without being spoken to. The Matriarchy is a wonderful place where everyone gets along and the trains run on time.
This is a perfect example of why the OT sucks now. This place has become so fricking trashy and political.
Used to be good information here too.

Build several major cities on the west coast on top of a volitile fault line and have an earthquake.
Gosh, could never see that coming.
Well, to be fair, one was known prior, the other was not.

It’s like it gave a F-U to the NO/SouthShore area just because it could. I’m not complaining because it went a lot better in my area than I figured, especially with that final track. 3 years ago after Ida most ROW’s for WST in this area were cleared out pretty good and it definitely made a difference.

I heard a clip of the mayor, on an Atlanta news station, saying that New Orleans is an example of preparedness.
Is that not true?
Is that not true?

No one believes that New Orleans is prepared. Last night was a prime example.
