Can you spot the pattern?

20 years ago the narrative was how the evil Jews were bulldozing homes and bombing nurseries.... Reality was that the Islamic Palestinians were terrorizing Israel.
The last several years, the narrative has been that no, Mohammed is not a radical Muslim, he's a gay lone wolf who was lonely and felt unaccepted. Reality is that these people are torturing and beheading vocal opposition at an alarming rate.
Now, the narrative is that a gang battle spilled over into a police shootout. Reality is what?

If the pattern holds, the reality is that the resentment of minorities towards police has escalated to the point where violence is starting to become the normal way they handle it.
To be fair, the relationship between disadvantaged minorities and police can date all the way to the early immigration policies of the US in the 1920s and even further if you consider the slavery era.
Even though the situation looks bleak, I honestly feel that things will simmer down. I think the recent shooting is a calculated assault meant to take advantage of the hysteria from the Alton Sterling execution.

Absolutely agree. It upsets me that so many outside groups seek to incite and enrage locals.
I meant to imply that this is coordinated from an outside group to make it look like its homegrown.

I agree. It is just too obvious if you think about it. BLM would be the perfect scapegoat for anyone making a calculated assault.

Your choice of terms is quite inflammatory. I don't know why people are using the word execution to describe the Alton sterling shooting. He was shot during an arrest. It hasn't been determined if it was a justified use of force or not yet. A grainy, cell phone video cannot be used to determine this

All the Southern logos in a row made my eyes cross.

If you use this kind of inflammatory language, you're part of the fricking problem. It's talk like this that got the police in Dallas and BR killed.
Stop with the false narrative.

I (turns out incorrectly) thought better of you.

Apparently brutally killing police officers is the cool thing for these progressive groups to do.
But what they don't realize is this is the crap that leads to martial law. The cops will get more military grade equipment and other things.
These terrorists groups are making things worse

Isn't there a southern board y'all can go to? You all wanted a race issue...congrats YOU GOT ONE NOW. Racism is and will be at an all time high now.

Don't be fooled by the media narrative. That's the exact point of this thread. This is no homegrown, Baton Rouge attack.
Btw, I'm white, I just happen to like southern.

Again, this is just not true. Check Twitter and FB posts by black people in the BR area. I'm sure they're the uneducated minority of the black community, but don't call them outsiders when they live in this town...
