Settle this argument....

Absolutely. If someone cuts off your head your are both, right?

You're dead, I don't think the semantics of this argument matters.

Did the injuries cause the death?
I was injured back in 2009, but didn’t die until last year. Also, the car that hit me in 2022 had nothing to do with the chainsaw incident in ‘09.

No. Injury causes death. But you can't be both

That broken leg doesn't miraculously heal when your brain switches off. So yes.
You could also be clinically dead with a lot of injuries and be brought back so you definitely could be dead and injured.
Semantics arguments are like what I should imagine kissing your sister would be like. Fun for a second then you realize how stupid what you are doing is.

If you get injured, then get lost and no one knows whether or not you have died, you might be Schrödinger's casualty.

Your body can have injuries, but "you" are not injured.

Just because you die of your injuries doesn't mean that you're no longer injured. It just means that it no longer matters.

Maybe in the technical definition of the word, but I would say once your are dead that no you are no longer injured in the intended sense of the word
I think there is an implication of damage that causes some sort of harm or hindrance/impairment when you say injury, which, when you are dead no longer seems applicable
At the point of death you are essentially an inanimate object, a corpse, and empty husk. I don't think you would say that something that has no conscious animation is injured but would rather say it is damaged/disfigured/mutilated etc. Words more applicable to objects

I would apply the same thought process to an injury

Yes, you can die from injuries which would leave your body dead with injuries.

You do realize that a lot of people who suffer bad injuries will occasionally die from those injuries. Therefore, injured and dead can be at the same time in my book.

After long and thoughtful consideration, the correct answer to this question is no.
