physicals and drug tests for welfare recipients

if you pass physical you have 3 months to get a job.
if you fail drug test you lose your welfare

I would dominate that budget.

I am just throwing this out there, but let's say the state decides to tighten the restrictions on welfare and it cuts half the people who currently receive it. Would that affect certain businesses in the state? Mainly grocery stores, etc.. In other words, are there stores in which a significant amount of their profit comes from welfare recipients?

What are these bullshite rational ideas your coming in here with?

Eta:, clearly the only realistic option is to raise state income tax on all those making over 100k. They are responsible for all the evil in the state

Expensive and ineffective. Try again. You will be better off cutting administration around welfare programs rather than increasing it

You must be a state worker...

Seriously, its not that easy (getting rid of a certain percentage of state workers). I have no idea how many people the state employees, but let's say they would cut half of those jobs. Then what? They will have to find work else where, but with that many more people looking for work, it will only increase the unemployment rate.

have a constitutional convention to amend state constitution to allow for cuts other than to healthcare and education, get rid of about 1/2 the state workers, eliminate the waste and abuse and we would not have to raise taxes one bit

I got to 6% surplus and that is with the restrictions placed by the game. Without the restrictions, this is clearly the answer and would be simple and effective. And I wouldn't have had to tax cigarettes and gas.

We also need to end pension programs. The fact that my wife will retire at 52 is laughable. Make all the state workers hired from today forward put their retirement in 401ks, just like the rest of the country.

The movie tax credits are an incentive to attract more movies to be filmed in Louisiana right? If you take away the tax credits then there is no incentive to come here. How doesn't the tax credits hurt?

Y'all need to step up y'all's budget game. Solved the deficit with a 7.55% surplus.

You'll have to excuse Oweo, he's a little slow on both the uptake and the getaway.

I eliminated the deficit and had a surplus of $105.2MM. There were some hard choices that had to be made and some things I would likely have to compromise which I ended up saying yes to, but the overall goal to have a fiscally responsible government is to have a balanced budget and eliminate wasteful spending. Legalizing marijuana would definitely solve the states budget issues though. They can tax the hell out of that, tobacco, and alcohol.

no recipients would have to buy the $3 amazon test drug test kit in order to get benefits. they will do it if its the only way they get the goods.

I increased revenue by nearly 6 percent and had a $31 billion surplus. It's simple increase all taxes and stop funding everything. That's $31,000,000,000 to line my pockets. frick you Louisiana tax payers. I'm a Democrat!!!

Well I can see the reaction already: that's discriminatory against all the poor people that can't afford a computer and internet access.

Basically did all what you did but also funded tops. I also raised medical funding. It's not that hard on paper

No, I intentionally left it off. It's one thing to type in shorthand. However, not understanding how a dollar sign works is sad.

no the state will supply them just you don't get approved unless you pay the $3. That $3 is then deducted from the total amount received
