In Louisiana fashion you’ve got about 3 more years until they do “a study” then you’ve got funding, bid process, permitting, pre-construction, etc. I’d say you’ve got about 22 years left.

No doubt. It's a concrete wall. Why does it need to be tested? It's just a wall of concrete with rebar in it most likely.

Don't blame the wall for the flooding when record amounts of rain came down.

Walker can absolutely blame the wall

As for the wall, it has NO chance if that event happens again.

It definately saved my house that day…Since then, Hurricane Ex-wife took the house…total loss! So I guess it saved my ex-wife’s house.

I remember feeling a tad guilty back then…all those poor people got smoked…

Have every right to be pissed, but blaming the wall as the cause is placing blame in the wrong area for almost everyone.

If they do drill holes, I'm gonna stick my dick through one.

There's several reasons you can't just cut holes in concrete.

You'd kill so many people due to spalled concrete if you got your way.

That would be an admission that their design was flawed opening them up to lawsuits.

Shawn Wilson already did it.

But despite what you all might think, those little slots would not have changed a single thing. The flooding came back up from south of the interstate from Maurapaus.

You keep saying “poke holes” like it’s not a solid concrete wall

1. Like someone said, no work yet probably has something to do with it still in legal limbo. Once adjudicated, I would hope they can get to it.
2. It was a 1000-yr storm event. Nobody designs for that.
3. Even with weep holes, the damage would have been done. Again, 1000-yr event; no amount of weep holes will convey that much water quick enough.
4. The LP has seen a massive amount of development so the surface drainage capacity has definitely suffered.
5. Holes or slots won't hurt it. That type of barrier is placed in the median when opposing roadways are less than 10' from each other, and it's meant to prevent semi trucks from crossing over into opposing traffic.
6. Regardless of what I say, a legal reckoning is likely coming.

Only in Louisiana would there be a project that had probably a gazzillion 'studies' done before any ground was broken, but they fail to realize they're inadvertently building a levee

The walls caused the flooding. This is not even up for debate. There are plenty of lawsuits and I’m pretty sure they’re already being settled by DOTD and a lot of the private contractors that worked in the project.
