Coachella's lineups were outstanding every year until a few years ago when it became the place to be seen

This is very true. I don't discriminate and I know just as much Top 40/Rap as anyone 10 years younger, but Coachella used to be a dream festival for me before Instagram was even around. It was always act after act of music I'd kill to see in one place.

I still would love to go for what it has become, but I wouldn't be going strictly for the music.

I can assure you the talent in Destin is not even in the same stratosphere as virtually any music festival on the globe

After a few beers and enough vodka and tequila it doesn’t matter.

Yea, camping is it's own ordeal. I had to buy a giant canopy tent thing, you have to bring jugs of water to take bird baths, booze for days in a row, etc.. just too much to frick with.

Had tickets to a show at Dragon's Den during Mardi Gras that I was dying to catch, but it STARTED at 3AM. I set my alarm at home to 1AM and was going to drive to NOLA, but yeah that didn't happen when my alarm went off.

I bet that show was fricking ridiculous, though.

I don’t bag on ‘music people’, but sorry you don’t understand. I’d rather listen to talk radio, mostly sports, since I was a kid.

I know popular music from hearing it in passing. If I’m at a venue, and drinking, live music will always sound good to me. I’m always corrected by ‘music people’ that it all sucks. Everything sucks except for what they like. I don’t listen to enough music to know the difference...hence not being a ‘music person’.

This year, most of the influencers and rich people I've seen go in the past brag-posted about how they weren't going this year. Some even just showed up at the Revolve fest (they pay for shite tons of models and celebs and influencers to go to their festivals) but never set foot on Coachella grounds. Weird change.

It’s sad that I follow enough instamodels to know this.

The entire economy around Coachella and revolve doesn’t seem sustainable. I’d love to see how that sausage is made
