The mass hysteria grocery shopping should have ended already and everyone returning back to a normal shopping schedule. Why is there still lines at places and items out of stock?

I live in the DFW area and my grocery stores are pretty well stocked back up. There is an item here or there that is out or low but for the most part the shelves are close to normal.

Fresh food in all the grocery stores I've been in. It's the frozen items I can't find.

Because chicken littles like the ones who post on this board have whipped people up into a panic, making it sound like the worst plague this side of the Ebola River. When this debacle of an overreaction is over, these people need to be taken to task.

old people are doing most of the panicking and now they get in first before anyone else, so they buy everything

like most in this thread, I've been able to find most of the things we normally buy, but it seems like every time I go to the grocery store there are 1 or 2 things that I normally buy that are all gone

like I haven't been able to find bacon for the last 2 weeks

My family is eating 99% of our meals at home amd not ordering out.

The main reason we eat out is because we are on the run doing family activities such as sporting games and don't have time to cook.

We have not had a family activity in 4 weeks.

There are no lines at our places, they are pretty empty.

Items out of stock as a whole lot to do with the supply chains.....warehouses and freight lines are all out of sorts.

I was talking about this last night. I was wondering why people are still going stack up on supplies. Eggs are one of those things people are buying a lot of which I can not figure out the reasoning for.

Has their ever been a threat or is there still a threat that grocery stores can still close? If there is I haven't heard about it, but I am about to get some fricking chickens to put in my back yard.

Bc people are fricking stupid.

I do enjoy the signs that say 1-2 per household.

I’d just added that means you, you greedy hoarding frick! At bottom of the sign.

HEB, the GOAT, had plenty. They have a line, but it's only to limit how many are in the store at a time. Usually in the door within 10 minutes. Randall's has everything, and most have no lines.

Target, with no line, is out of everything constantly. I stopped in because I needed some lamps and they didn't have any vinegar strangely.

Same in Bham. The only things that are scarce are TP, eggs, dry beans, frozen pizzas, and frozen veggies. Went to Publix yesterday and they had a decent amount of Norther brand TP.

If I were a cashier I’d call them out in front of everybody

Stores can limit it at the register. Meaning once the limit has been scanned, no additional items will scan. That way you can't scam the system or have a cashier make an exception. I know HEB is doing it that way, but it should be easy with any POS system nowadays.

Well we cook 6 to 8 eggs every morning for our family of 4. My teenage son eats half of it and we get the rest.

Our grocery bill has gone up substantially with everyone home 24/7. But like others have said, spending zero on gas and eating out, so it all balances out.

But yes it sucks going to the grocery store right now!!!

People are now eating breakfast at home and having time to actually cook breakfast, instead of just eating a bowl of cereal before school

I know my family of 4 eats 6-8 eggs every morning for breakfast, so yeah...eggs go quick

Those of you who have 4 or 5 people (including yourself) in your household, how much of the following do you use on a weekly basis?

Milk
Bread

I am asking this, but one of the two times I have gone to walmart since all of this started, I saw a lady with 4 or 5 gallons of milk in her basket. I guess I never paid attention as much as I have the past few weeks, but that seems like a lot of milk, but then again I don't know what a family of 4 or 5 would consume.
