Can private citizens who are sick of potholes in the street fill them up?

Take a wheel barrel, mix some concrete, and pour it in a pot hole. Allowed? I’m assuming it probably depends where you are. I’m assuming there could be liability issues too.

So people are expected to just accept wear and tear on their cars because their municipalities are lazy and can’t patch up the potholes?

I would do it secretly. Guess it would have to be quick drying also.

Liability issues may arise if u get caught

If you want to be sued for whatever damage occurs to cars passing over them then sure.

Just go get a few loads of cold mix asphalt and throw it in. Not like anyone's going to tell you something.

Technically, no, but do you think you'd ever get caught? Even if some lazy arse public works driver drives by he'll probably think "hell yeah now I don't have to do my job"

I have a neighbor who is a contractor. We are on an L shaped two block dead-end street, and he regularly has a crew come out and fix issues with our street. He had a crew clean out the culverts under everyone's driveway last week.

They can't put the liability on you if they don't see you doing it.

Draw a pecker around it with white spray paint and they will probably come fix it.

You cats should kick a little something into a kitty - maybe not to pay him, but buy him something nice (new grill, case of booze he likes, etc.), just to show appreciation. At a minimum, refer him a lot of business.

Neighbors like that are unicorns, baw.

This is just out of curiosity. I don’t have a car or a wheel barrel in the city lol.

A few years ago some guy in Jackson, MS, went out repairing potholes on his own and was featured in a news article and the city said it was illegal.
